What is BOOYAH? Chicken Booyah is from a tradition some of our distillery team has brought to us from their origins in Northeastern Wisconsin via the country of Belgium. This traditional stew or soup is cooked in a giant cast iron kettle over a wood fire. The soup is made from whole chickens, vegetables, potatoes and some other various ingredients depending on who is making it, the result is a deep and rich chicken soup that has a unique flavor produced by cooking it over an open fire and in the giant cast iron kettle. It’s also a sight to behold! The tradition came over with Belgian immigrants when they first started moving to the fertile farming area around Green Bay, WI. It has been served for several centuries at church picnics, family reunions, football games and more. Traditionally the soup was created by families all contributing ingredients, almost a “stone soup” if you will. Join us as we bring this tradition to La Crosse and start a new tradition together.
